There are many different types of accommodation in Thailand, the two most popular are hotels and villas. But what are the main differences between them? They both have a lot to offer the typical holidaymaker, but they are both very different. When you choose to rent a villa and opt for a DIY holiday, there are many benefits when compared to staying in a hotel. Villas tend to more affordable and spacious than a hotel suite, and renting a villa is an attractive choice for families and small groups that are looking for a bit more privacy and flexibility during their stay.
Thailand literally has hundreds and hundreds of hotels and villas available. The country relies heavily on hospitality, and if you look carefully, there are some real gems available. Be careful when looking for villas, as often there is confusion between a villa and a bungalow as if you are staying near a beach chances are it may be called a bungalow.
Perhaps the biggest attraction of staying in a villa in Thailand is the variety and the range of places that are spread along Thailand’s wonderful beaches. Just imagine going to sleep with the sound of the ocean, and waking up to the smell of the sea. There are literally hundreds of beautiful villas just meters from the beach. The only downside is transportation, but normally most families just hire a motorcycle or a small jeep for the duration of their stay and use it to tour the local area and also eat at the many restaurants that are available for a fraction of the prices hotels usually charge.
Whether you enjoy the luxurious trappings of a five star hotel, or the DIY style accommodation of a rental villa, you can expect to have a great stay. Just be aware that you may fall in love with this wonderful country.
I guess this is not always the case and it highly depend on the time you plan to stay. As well how many people are coming with you. For sure villas with private swimming pools will offer a great comfort, but are not really suitable if you travel alone.
Honestly I prefer villas, more space, better amenities and more quiet. Of course it is more expensive than hotel, but definitely better way to spend holiday.
Depends on what kind of holiday you want. When I go somewhere, I want to see different places and culture. Honestly, I am going back to accommodation just for sleep and the price of villas is not for my budget.
Without doubt villas are better choice, however the price is much higher and there are not many trusted villa rental companies in Thailand.
As everything on this planet there is no “the best”, it depends on many things, booking of hotel or villa have own advantages or disadvantages and depends on many factors.
