Krabi

Krabi is located some 800km from Bangkok the on the mainland opposite Phuket and south of Phang Nga, Krabi province has perhaps Thailands most scenic coastline, characterized by karsts outcrops which form sheer cliffs on land and islands offshore. The interior is typified by densely wooded hills, palm groves and rubber plantations. The areas beaches are now being developed for tourism, but Krabi remains for the moment a fresher choice than Phuket or Samui.

Nat Noppharat Thara

Some 18km northwest Krabi town, this 2km casuarinas-lined beach is part of a national marine park. This pleasant spot is popular with local picnickers but is otherwise little developed.

Ao Nang

This is Krabis main beach, a long sandy strand readily accessible by road. Towing Denver . Offshore are numerous islands while at the southern end of the beach is Laem Phra Nang. This enchanting headland can be reached only by boat and offers three stunningly beautiful beaches (Ao Phra Nang, best spot, and west and east Railae). Also on the headland are Phra Nang Cave, on the beach and housing a shrine to the spirit of Phra Nang, and Princess Pool high up in the cliffs.

Krabi Town

The market and wharf in Krabi town, an unpretentious huddle at the mouth of the Krabi River, are worth strolling around for their local colors. Home Insurance Quotes . Khanab Nam Mount, an interesting rock formation in the river and accessible in a few minutes by boat, is also an attraction.

Shell Cemetery

Much vaunted in Krabis promotional literature is the Shell Cemetery (Su San Hoi), a beach of fossilized layers of limestone and shell formed 75 million years ago. It is apparently a rare phenomenon, although visually it is no more exciting than the broken concrete slabs of a seaside promenade.

Wat Tham Sua

Situated about 7km inland from Krabi town, Tiger Cave Monastery, as the name translates, in a famous forest monastery set in a wooded valley surrounded by high cliffs where monks have meditation shelters in the mouths of caves. The setting is quite extraordinary and most atmospheric.

Tham Bokkhorani National Park

Off the main Krabi-Phang Nga highway some 46km from town, this popular beauty spot is enclosed by limestone cliffs which enhance a fantasy like setting where the focal point is a large lotus pool fed by a waterfall splashing down from the rocks overhead.     Probably I will not surprised anybody, if I say that Krabi have probably the most picturesque nature in Thailand, as well it is not as expensive as Samui and Phuket.

    Wow, good guide to Krabi. Probably this year I will spend my holiday there. I have been to Thailand several times, but never been to Krabi.

    One of the most beautiful beautiful areas in Thailand. I have stay there several times and I must admit that probably the best place for relaxing holiday.

    Krabi is very picturesque area and it is not as noisy and overpopulated by tourists or insane development. For sure one of my favorite places in Thailand.

    I personally like Krabi very much as it is not that developed and over populated. As well probably the most beautiful nature in Thailand.
